A Morning In Straelen

Underneath a clear blue sky, the market place was coming alive with fresh produce, blooming flowers, and potted plants. Men and women hustled and bustled to set up their tents, displaying their colorful goods for potential customers. The sound of the water fountain was drowned out by large carts rolling seasonal inventory over the cobblestone below. The sun warmed my skin, a cool breeze rustled through the tall, thin trees all around me, and I realized that I am in love with this place. Its simplicity and easy-going nature have built a special place in my heart, and I have no doubt that it is here that these treasured memories will stay.

Oops...didn't mean to do that! I was testing it out because it wasn't working for some reason...anyways! lol I wanted to tell you that I have seriously enjoyed reading your lovely articles. Every time I sit down to read them I feel like I'm back in Europe, experiencing it just like you are. I can't tell you how often I've had tears in my eyes when I read them, because it seriously takes me back to my memories. I can't fight it, no matter how hard I try. When it came close to time for me to leave, I was definitely anxious to be back to my friends and to the summer memories I so desperately missed, like riding the boat and picnics with my friends, but I also realized that Paris was my home, too. Leaving Paris was one of the hardest things for me to do. Just know that when you get back and have so many stories to tell that you feel as if you'll never be able to tell them all, I'll definitely be ready to listen. I will be able to relate to you on levels a lot of your listeners won't, because I lived that experience too, you know? I'm so proud of the wonderful work you've done and for the fact that you put yourself out there and lived an amazing experience. I know it was difficult sometimes, but you always pulled through it with an attitude only Barbara Ashley can have. =) Love you, chick and can't wait to see you!
